日本言語政策学会第21回研究大会のご案内
日本言語政策学会では、第21回研究大会を2019年6月8日、9日の2日間の日程で関西学院大学にて開催することとなりました。詳しくは以下のご案内をご参照ください。皆様のご参加と、研究発表の応募をお待ちしています。
■大会テーマ：転換点を迎えた日本の言語政策
■趣旨：超党派の国会議員により準備が進められてきた「日本語教育の推進に関する法律案」が、2019年1月の通常国会に提出される見通しとなりました。2018年12月8日には、外国人材受け入れ拡大を目的とした改正出入国管理及び難民認定法が成立し、今後外国人材受け入れの対象となる業種や受け入れ目標人数の具体化の作業が進むことになります。これらの動きは、これまで明確な言語政策がないと指摘されることもあった日本の言語政策史上、極めて大きな転換点であると言えます。今大会では、このような転換点を迎えた日本の言語政策の今後を考える機会としたいと思います。

■備考
● 今回は一般研究発表（口頭発表）を午前と午後の2枠に分けて実施します。採択予定の発表件数は従来と同程度を見込んでいます。
● 従来の分科会を改め、複数の発表者のグループ単位による応募が可能なパネル発表の場を設けます（2件程度）。特に、今回の大会テーマである「転換点を迎えた日本の言語政策」の課題に関わるパネルの応募を歓迎します。
● JALP研究大会では、従来より英語による発表を受け付けていましたが、今回はより積極的に英語による発表を募集します。海外在住の研究者の方、国内の留学生の方の応募を歓迎します。
● 普段学会と接点のない学部生の活動成果や、研究志向ではない実務家の方の実践成果を発表する場として、WiPセッション（Work in Progress/Practice）を設ける予定です。こちらについては、研究発表とは別に応募を受け付ける予定です。続報をお待ちください。

JALP21: Crossroads of Language Policy in Japan
We are delighted to announce that the Japan Association of Language Policy (JALP) will hold the 21st Research Conference (JALP21) on the 8th and 9th, June, 2019 at Kwansei Gakuin University.
Conference theme: Crossroads of Language Policy in Japan
Objective: The bill of the Promotion of the Teaching of Japanese, which has been drafted by a non-partisan group of MPs over years, will finally be introduced to the next Diet session in January, 2019. In December, 2018, the immigration law was amended to expand the eligibility of employment visa to respond to the requirements of the understaffed segments of industry in Japan. Historically, Japan was often said to lack a clearly defined language policy. These
legislative moves no doubt demonstrate a major crossroads of language policy in Japan. We would like to take the opportunity of JALP21 to discuss issues related to, but not limited to, the recent development of language policy in Japan.
Venue: Kwansei Gakuin University (Nishinomiya Uegahara Campus)
